Nutrition is central for good health and a balanced metabolism and metabolomics covers the profiling of the molecular weight metabolites in biological samples. We seek an Assistant Professor with a PhD degree in experimental nutrition having experience conducting human trials aimed at metabolomics investigations and with more than three years of hands-on experience with data analysis in metabolomics and the identification of small molecules in biological samples. The researcher must have experience writing ethical protocols, recruiting and leading human trials. Demonstration of experience in identifying and elucidating structures of metabolomic features is highly important to this position. Experience with enzymatic syntheses of human metabolites will also be considered of great importance. The position runs for 3 years as part of the European project, Shift2Health, and may be extended if additional funding becomes available or if the applicant manages to obtain her/his own funding.
The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research with obligations regarding human trials for metabolomics research, data analysis, publication and other scientific communication as well as research-based teaching and associated examination in Human Nutrition, Bioactive Foods, and Metabolomics. To a limited extent, this position may also include performance of other duties.
Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Documented teaching qualifications must be achieved during the employment at the level of the Assistant Professor Pedagogy course at the University of Copenhagen and documented teaching experience, including experience with course development will be considered.
