Our research
The assistant professor will be part of a dynamic international team of researchers that integrates CRISPR screening approaches with mechanistic follow up studies to understand basic principles of signal transduction. The group is focusing on protein phosphatases and how they are assembled and regulated as well as principles of their substrate recognition. The group is composed of 6-8 researchers with an emphasis on teamwork and collaborative science.

Your job
The assistant professor will be responsible for developing and conducting lentiviral based base editing screens in human cell lines to obtain functional insight into biological processes at amino acid resolution. Your tasks involve testing novel base editors, designing and cloning base editing libraries, conducting screens and performing validation and mechanistic follow up studies.

The assistant professor’s responsibilities will primarily consist of:

  • research, including publication/academic dissemination duties
  • research-based teaching
  • sharing knowledge with society
