We are seeking a highly motivated Robotic Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a core member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge robotic systems for the rebar industry. GMT Robotics, established in 2019 as a spin-off of GMT, is the first in the world to position itself as a trendsetter in robot-automated handling and welding solutions for the reinforcement industry worldwide. We are currently in the process of securing a substantial investor for our company. This investor will also be placing significant orders for a project in the Middle East, leading us to anticipate a tenfold increase in our turnover within the next three years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test robotic systems and components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics into various applications.
- Conduct research to identify innovative solutions and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Troubleshoot and debug robotic systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software components.
- Develop documentation, including specifications, schematics, and user manuals.
- Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients as/when needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing robotic systems.
- Strong knowledge of robotics principles, including kinematics, dynamics, and control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software for design and simulation is an advantage.
- Familiarity with various robotic platforms and sensors.
- Experience programming Yaskawa or Fanuc robots is an advantage.
- Integration experience with Siemens PLC systems and knowledge of TIA Portal.
- Knowledge of vision systems, ideally HALCON.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility and open-mindedness to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated portfolio of systems and machines developed, showcasing hands-on expertise.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with programming languages commonly used in robotics, such as C++, Python, or ROS.
- Knowledge of mechatronics and electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques applied to robotics.
- Previous experience working in a startup or small organization environment is an advantage.

Salary and Contract Terms:
- We offer a competitive salary ranging from €5.500-6.800 gross per month, depending on qualifications and experience. This package includes a pension scheme where the employer contributes 2/3 and the employee 1/3 of the total contribution, starting at a rate of 5%.
- The position is permanent for the right candidate, with an initial 3-month probationary period. During this trial period, accommodation will be arranged by the employer, with the cost to be covered by the employee, capped at a maximum of €600 per month. Post-probation, the candidate will be responsible for securing their own accommodation.
- The role is based on a 37-hour work week, with compensation provided for agreed overtime.
