We are on the lookout for a talented Thai Sous Chef with expertise in Isaan-style cuisine, Thai classical dishes, and a thorough understanding of natural wines. Our ideal candidate will be a dynamic and energetic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, displays a strong sense of teamwork, and shows a keen curiosity about food and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of a range of Thai dishes, particularly those from the Isaan region and classical Thai repertoire.
- Show a broad understanding of natural wines, and apply this knowledge in pairing them with various Thai dishes.
- Work in collaboration with the kitchen team to develop innovative and appealing menus.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen, strictly adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Support the training and mentorship of junior kitchen staff, promoting an environment of ongoing learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with suppliers to procure the finest ingredients, focusing on sustainability and locally-sourced produce when possible.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing ideas and suggestions to the overall restaurant strategy.
Key Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a Thai kitchen, with a specific focus on Isaan-style and classical Thai cuisine.
- In-depth understanding of natural wines and their successful pairing with Thai dishes.
- Demonstrable ability to work efficiently in a high-paced kitchen environment, maintaining excellent standards even under pressure.
- Outstanding team player with strong leadership skills, capable of fostering a positive, collaborative working environment.
- An inherent curiosity and passion for food and culture, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement.
- Demonstrated empathy and effective communication skills, with an ability to understand and cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences.
- Familiarity with the latest culinary trends and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a quality restaurant environment.
- Lingual skills in English, Danish and Thai will be highly advantageous.
